Happy, hectic days

It's been a week of work, a visit from Mum, writing Christmas cards and frenzied internet shopping. Since about Tuesday I've been feeling so much better - work has helped - and, in fact, I haven't thought about blogging, which I guess means that I've not been feeling like a cancer patient...just normal...which is great. I say normal...but being sober at the work Christmas party is not exactly normal - it's usually my biggest night of the year but on Friday I was home in bed by 11!! Anyway, Martin more than made up for it the following night at his work do.

Iona finishes school tomorrow so it's going to be quite a job trying to keep her calm until next Monday - I'd say there is no chance. Her main anxiety at the moment focusses on how Father Christmas is going to know that she is at my mum's for Christmas!! Mine is what colour to paint the hall as the decorator arrives at 8.30 tomorrow morning to start!

We're all well and enjoying the happy, hectic build up to Christmas. I hope you are too.

Vicky xx

Yay, that's the best Christmas present of all....to know that you are feeling good and are happy! I'm happy now too!

Although I think you may have been feeling a bit off colour when you wrote that, as you said work is making you feel better!?? Destination Bristol...good therapy...well there's a thought?!! ;0)

You'd better leave Santa out an AA route finder next to his glass of milk and cookie, so that he can find his way to Edinburgh. And while you're at it can you do one for me in Oz pls. Just so he doesn't forget me this year.

Lots of Love

Your happy mate Sair in Oz! xx

Great to hear you are feeling good.
I can imagine that Iona is as excited as Isabella at the moment. Christmas really is for kids. We have Isabella performing as the Christmas star in the nursery play on Thursday. Obviously I can't find a pair of yellow tights in the whole of Milan and so am all set to dye everything tonight - help !
There's so much to do this week, what with the office party, last minute shopping, wrapping the nursey presents (I was totally conned into being a rep) etc. etc. You must be mad to have added painting your hall to your undoubtedly long list of things to do before Xmas.
As for my plans for the number five, (pink, red or whatever colour) we'll have to wait till after Xmas.
Lots of love and hugs,
Barney.

So lovely lush and lovelylovely to see you at the DB work do, you look so well!

I was so cross with myself that I couldnt remember your Blog address on my hols, as I wanted to take the bus on a site seeing tour of NYC!! I picked up Wayne and Colleen at the New York Kincks Basketball, and they were happy to ride 'coach'.

Tool a long while to catch up on all the messages, but so happy to hear some positive news and that you are feeling good in yourself. Agree with the Bennett about work at DB making you feel better - whatever next!!!! (Sorry John !)

Anyway Mum is now back from Portugal with the info I was telling you about, will get it across to you as soon as she drops it over.

Much love to you Vicky, you are so special to so many people

Hi Vicky,

So good to hear that you're feeling back on track and that the bus is heading happily along to destination Christmas! If you have a rough time after the next courses of chemo, try and think about how you feel now as opposed to how you felt last week - easier said than done I appreciate!

Have a fantastic Christmas - and as you said on a previous blog, thank goodness for Iona and her need for normality (tell her Santa lives closer to Scotland anyway so she'll get the best presents as he goes there before Bristol!).

Take care.

Love,

Karen xx

Hi Vicky,

Great to hear that you are feeling good, long may it last.

I know what you mean about Iona getting excitied about Christmas Abi is the same, its just that at 32 she should have grown out of it by now!!

I think that we will also have to leave a note for Santa as we are off to see Abi's parents in Singapore for Christmas, so a hot and sticky one to be had by all! Still at least it will take my mind of the cricket....Sarah I really feel for you over in Oz!

Best wishes for the festive period Vicky, hope you have a great one and see you soon in 2007...blimey that sounds strange.

Cheers!
Simon

MY god - painting the hall on the run up to christmas! You must be completely mad. We are nearly there - well that was until fog closed heathrow airport tonight and the forecast is for worse fog tomorrow!! Now we are planning to drive. First buying an incar dvd player in the morning (on top of all the christmas presents!) Still, looking forward to it, I think. Certainly looking forawrd to seeing you and Martin at Emma's on Friday night and Iona soon after.

Is it Blog etiquette to say hi to another 'commentor'? Anyway, 'Barney' - have enjoyed seeing your comments - takes me back to Merchy Mews. Will you be in Edinburgh when you have finished dying tights yellow?

Merry Christmas to everyone on the bus and best wishes for a happy and healthy new year to you all. (Amazing - I have just added another 100 odd to my christmas card list in the press of a single computer key)

Have a very merry Christmas. Take huge amusement in Martin's hangovers - and I hope you'll be feeling better than him!

We're off to Northen Ireland tomorrow trying to fly out of a fog-bound Heathrow into a fog-bound Belfast City so fingers crossed your flights to Scotters treat you well.

Lots of love Bexs and Ian

Hope I haven't left it too late before you go to Scotland to say that I hope you have a happy and stress free Christmas with your family. I hope Iona is now reassured that Father Christmas will leave her presents in the right place. I can just about remember how worrying this can be for a four year old! Take good care. Love Sue (Wirral)

Thinking about you and sending you lots of Christmas Cheer. Any room for another on the bus?

Will drop you a wee line and look forward to catching up soon. I'll look out some of my nutrition books and send them off to you if you like...

Big hugs to you, Martin and Iona,

Lots of love,

Hi Vicky,

Got your blog address via Suzi, via Diana.

"I've just got to see my beautiful girl grow up" - This kinda says it all.

Very glad to here the latest prognosis from those in the know is looking more positive.

Jane Tomlinson's exploits have a bit of a cult status in the triathlon area (as does Lance Armstrong of course). I've read a bit about Jane, and donated, but never thought (of course) she might have a book.

Just ordered it online at Amazon - costing £0.01p (plus £2.75p postage) - I can't believe that inspiration, and some perspective about my own petty little issues could come at such a reasonable price! Rather like finding this blog!

Take care my liver (sorry, but I really loved that one).

All the best,

Luke
