I must admit that I didn't really notice any extra oomph as a result of my blood transfusion but then we were rushing around quite a lot - surprise!
Our week on the west coast was great too - lots of pottering on the beaches, a perfect day out to the island of Iona, deer and seal spotting, evenings playing cards and I did manage the 6-mile walk to Loch Tearnait where Dad's ashes are scattered.
Iona had a very happy 6th birthday while we were away - she loves her new camera - but she was even happier when we got back and got a cat. We now have a lovely, friendly, 10-month old, ginger female who we have called Skye. Iona is delighted and rushes home from school to see her.
I'm feeling ok - this is my drug-free week - although I don't have as much energy as I would like. Iona went back to school yesterday so now, no excuse, for not starting on my enormous jobs list!! Firstly, the small matter of a 6th birthday party on Saturday!!
Anyway, next treatment on Tuesday so let's hope the blood test is straightforward this time. In the meantime, here's some holiday pics:

Hi Vicky
Sounds like you had a fab holiday -and I love the wellies! It didn't even look that cold and wet.
Enjoy (?) the 6th birthday party - you must be mad - and I hope everything goes well next week.
Lots of love
Emily & Robin (and an 18 week bump - not sure if you've got the DB gossip!)xx
Hi Vicky,
Glad you had a good holiday and that the blood transfusion didn't interfere too much with your plans. The pictures are great - Scotland looks sunnier than the Costa del Hell was two weeks ago!
Good luck with the party, and with the treatment next week.
Love,
Karen x
Glorious pictures Vicky - thank heavens for the man who invented cameras!
So pleased the holiday was good and I have no doubt that it will have been as beneficial as any medicine.
I'm up to Liverpool next week to see the next Clipper race off, which includes Mrs D on-board Durban Clipper to Fremantle. You have no idea how many people will be taking you on that journey we know so well and I'm positive that their combined embracing of how you approach life will bounce back on to you as yet another positive form of medicine.
Lots of love to you all,
Ian x
Hi Vicky,
The holiday sounds fab, so glad you all had a lovely time. Look forward to hearing all about it when I see you in a couple of weeks. Take care and fingers crossed that next Tuesday goes smoothly - will be thinking of you.
Lots of love and hugs,

Hi Vicky,
Brilliant pictures. It looks like you got some rare Scottish sun. We're all back to the normal routine after our hols down south. Isabella is back to nursery on Monday thank goodness as she's getting bored and the babysitter is going mad.
Thinking of you.
Love,
Sarah.
What lovely pics, Iona is soooo cute! Glad you had a great hol. I am really excited about meeting your kitty too! Miaow
Look forward to lunching with you sometime soon Em xx
Dear Vicky
What a great time you all had up in Scotland its amazing how many guises medicine comes in! Looking at the photos it appears this form of medicine has really done you a lot of good. Keep taking the advised dose at very regular intervals and I am sure it will be a great help to all the other medication you are taking at the same time! Good luck for this week - we are thinking of you and hope all goes well. Iona is really growing up - and what a delightful little girl she is too! She is going to have heaps of fun with Skye!
Ding Ding - seems like the bus is on pleasant enough route just now!!
Much love

Hi Vicky
Great to see you got away - lovely holiday snaps. I see you ended up getting the kitten you had talked about - no more visits for your mum's dog then?! Hope you don't miss Iona too much now she's back at school. Take care. love Elly x
Hiya Vicky Your pics of the holiday in Scotland look fab - who needs the med, hey? Cant believe how grown up Iona looks these days - mind you - Laura's the same!
Sorry I never write on the blog - I do read it, but I just dont know what to say - which is a crap excuse - better write something rubbish than not at all! Suffice to say, we think about you a lot, wish we could do something about it all, and think you and Martin are fabulous!!
With much love - looks like we'll have to have a drink on you tonight as you are laid up for a couple of days. Helen and Gary H xxx
