Well, I wasn't looking forward to MMM on Tuesday, the multi-coloured triple dose of chemo no 3. But it passed off completely uneventfully. Nicky hid the syringes from me! And it was great - no pain, no nausea, no rainbow wee...and a full meal afterwards! Martin even felt bold enough to go out to the cricket nets with the school dads.
Martin deserves a few nights out - he has been in real super-hero mode lately, looking after me and Iona and the cat (in no partcular order!!). Plus it's student time at work and they are all desperate for Virgin Media services so he's working silly hours and the other team leader chose last weekend to wrap himself and his high speed motorbike round a van on the M32 so he's out of action for 10 weeks with some nasties to his leg.
So, I wait to see what side effects the MMM is going to throw at me - so far, so good. Yesterday (Wednesday) I had more energy than I have in a long while. Having said that it's still a huge effort to get up the hill from school..but I did manage a few jobs round the house...probably a few too many judging by how I feel today. I must pace myself better. When I learn how to do that, I'll let you know!!! A weekend of rugby watching will be a good start!
More soon.
Vicky xx

Hi Vicky,
Fab news that the first MMM went smoothly, I bet you are relieved. So good to hear that you are up and about and your energy levels are increasing. Just as well by the sounds of it with Martin's workload! Keep it up!

Horray- glad to see some good news on the board- long may it continue! And apparently dust only piles up to a certain level and then stops, so maybe you could use Iona's room as a test (altho I don't know if the same can be said for little girls toys)
Hope you all have a lovely, restful weekend.

What great news the first dose agreed not to disagree! That's encouraging news for the future. Hope your energy levels continue to climb too.
Enjoy the rugby - the NHL kicked off for the winter last weekend so doubt we'll see any sport aside hockey for 6 months...
Happy Thanksgiving weekend!

Pace - The key word for this week. May i suggest you look at the following -
P = Patience, perseverance and and each of the Passengers on your bus know how you have inspired us all in showing us just how much of each of these qualities you have. Also you mentioned your `P` is not so rainbow coloured as you expected!
A = Ability - you have shown such a remarkable Ability to face all that has come your way. We, your `Ardent supporters`, know how hard it has been for you at times but you have faced everything with such an Admirable and inner strength - the bus sure has taken us along some very diverse routes with you - but we are all still on that bus - and have become very Attached to it!
C = Courage = No greater gift at times - and so Courageous have you been throughout the Catalogue of events that have befallen you over these past months. Lets keep Cranking that old bus up and with lots of very Carefully administered T.L.C. we shall get to ride on a much Calmer route
E = Emotion, Encourangement - How does one measure Emotion? The Enormity of this wonderful blog you have created is shown in all of the Emotions that we are all sharing with you - and indeed you are sharing with us. You Encourage others who read these pages, and who are going through similar curcumstances, that Everything is worth fighting for.
These remarkable messages you send are something that has Endeared us all to you.
Yes - P.A.C.E. definitely something for us all to think about!
Ding Ding - got to go -
Much love to you as always

So glad the MMM treatment went ok and that you've felt ok subsequently. Also that you're generally feeling more energetic - maybe you'll even be up to lunch next week?
Hope you're enjoying a nice relaxing weekend watching the rugby. Steve was up at 6.30 this morning watching the Grand Prix! Couldn't believe it - only the Grand Prix would get him up that early!
I'll text you about lunch next week.
Love Judy xxx
Glad to hear that you are feeling ok after the new treatment.
Have a good rest and don't go doing anymore housework!!!!
Take care
Tracey (Helen's friend)
Hello Vicky!
Must apologise for not responding to your blog earlier. Just wanted to say that we are thinking of all of you. Good to read that the MMM was okay!
With all our love,
Julie & Justin
Hi Vicky,
Well I'm sure the rugby result lifted your spirits even higher after knocking out Australia! Andrew (and many other Ozzies) were VERY grumpy on Sunday. I'm trying not to be too smug, but my parents - who arrived today - are so pleased with themselves for being here to enjoy the glory of the win!!
On Saturday night I did the 'Star Walk' all around Sydney in aid of the Breast Cancer Foundation. (Like the Sun Walk/Moon Walk events) We all wore pink and wore pink bra's on the outside!! It was quite a sight seeing 10,000 people in pink walking past the Opera House, past all the diners in Darling Harbour and under the Harbour Bridge.
I'll send you a picture! But for now here's a weblink for you. http://www.mydove.com.au/pinkstarwalk/thegallery.asp
Looking forward to the next blog update.
Lots of Love

Hi Vicky,
Good to hear the MMM hasn't had any nasty side effects. Remember not to over do it. Love as always.

Dear Vicky, I can't iamgine that the weekend of rugby was a wholly relaxing experience! Simon spent most of it about 2 inches from the television shouting largely unrepeatable stuff! Lets hope the kids weren't paying too much attention. I'm in slight trepidation about picking Angus up from cricket today in case the expletives have rubbed off!! I went out to the park in the end for some peace and quiet!! Thinking of you lots and hope that you're having a good week. Love to I and M too. Lots of love, Raych
Well I watched the England game very out numbered at a friends place. Propping up a my other hard drinking Scotish friend. Good time had by the two pomms, drunken insults taken well.
I hope you took it easy and enjoyed.
I was also in my new fat face top in homage to you.
lots of love Jim (Bristol clipper/your woman in Brisbane)
Hi Vicky, we are really glad to hear that your MMM went well - hope it carries on!
I think you need to get Fat Face to sponsor this bus as I went to check out what all the fuss was about the other day and luckily my student loan came through as I came out with a great pair of jeans and scarf!!
All the best for the next few weeks!
love Jenny, M, M & A xxxx
I've been thinking of you lots over the last few days and hope you're having a good week, but that you are pacing yourself! Good to see you - albeit briefly - last Friday after school...

Hopefully you've still had no ill effects of the MMM (although rainbow wee sounds fun)- and another sporting weekend to boot. Love it!
Take it steady SuperGirl
