The holiday is on. Dr B just rang and said this morning's blood results are good enough to go. I'm sure the travelling will be an effort but well worth it. I'll now have my treatment when we get back on Thursday 1st November. Perhaps, things are looking up at last.

I keep my tabs on you and am delighted the liver has decided to play ball.
Glad you are getting off somewhere warm for a while especially as we have had constant winter here since April!
Keep on trucking.
Best wishes
Angela (Cary-Brown)
Hi Vicky,
It is good to hear that you've got the green light to go to Spain. Have a lovely time with Martin and Iona and enjoy the warm sunshine.
Mark and I will be at Carrow Road on Saturday supporting the Robins and hoping that it's the Canaries that will get stuffed!
Love Jo, Mark, Alice and William xxxx
Vicky,
I am delighted your holiday is on. And delighted that your liver is responding. And also very pleased that you are getting some help with the huge emotional toll of all this. Three huge positives.
I am sorry to hear that the bloods are taking a battering, but at least it seems all their efforts on the liver are having some effect.
We are off to Manchester for another mini-break at Christie's tomorrow. So pleased your break is sunnier. Your mum will have a very happy birthday with you there.
So have a wonderful holiday with lots of rest, hugs, laughs and no doubt a few grumps and tears too.
I know many of us keep saying that you are amazing, positive superheros, but please realise they are commentaries, not expectations.
Take care. Our thoughts are with you all,
Helen, Quent and Oakley
What fantastic news - I am so so pleased for you. Great news as well about the liver. I felt so sad when I read your last blog, and was considering how best to respond, so it was a tonic to read the latest news (and a tonic for you as well I am sure!!)
I hope it's lifted your spirits a bit - I can't blame you for feeling down - what a dreadful time you've been having lately, and I hope your appointment with the new Dr B will be really helpful. Will be thinking of you.
Have a great time in Spain if I don't see you before then - all that sun and precious precious time with Martin and Iona - hopefully your strength will continue to build up and you will be able to relax and experience and savour every special moment one at a time.
Love Diana

Great news that you have been given the green light for your holiday. Hope you have a lovely relaxing time. Really hope we can get together with the "6" mums when you get back. Much love, Lucy Nash x
The `P`s` have paid off!!! Patience and perseverance!!! Well done Vicky it certainly is good news that you have been given permission to go to Spain - don`t think for one minute those delightful doctors of yours would have let you go if there was the slightest bit if uncertainty. You are obviously doing all the right things to get back on course again - so fingers and toes crossed that you keep it up! This poor old bus goes over some really bumpy bits doesn`t it!! Now you have the sunshine to look forward to and complete relaxation - what a thought! Can we class the old bus as an `Air-bus` now!!! We are all coming with you - can`t let you take that kind of detour without us all tagging along!!
Take care and we wish you Martin and Iona a really good time together -
Much love as always - Your Friends in the North

Hope the deck chair will be as comfy as your sofa, I had a good night's sleep on that, not surprised you've grown fond of it.
Vegging is still fun in the sun, don't expect too much of yourself, and come back refreshed. You all deserve a break!!!
Our thoughts are with you as always,
lots of love Claire, Vladi, Paul, Julien & Innes.
I am so pleased that your holiday is going ahead as planned (even though it means Martin misses out on the rugby). I will be thinking of you, as always, and hope you all have a lovely relaxing time. See you after the half-term,
Abi (as in Colin Jude Eric) xx

Hello Vicky,
Really glad to hear that you are going away for a holiday I hope you all have a good time. I will be able to up date regularly now as Justin has bought me a laptop. I am back in Bristol for a few days just to check on house ect. I have ofcourse had the expensive visit to Fatface, (not available in Germany, but now I will be able to shop on line!)
So glad to hear your liver is responding well and I hope the holiday is fantasic.

Hi, honey! Just thought I'd add my cheer to the general happy noises. I'd love to come and see you some time - Josie and her brood are in Slimbridge so I'm over that way pretty often. Give me a shout on char at brazen-hussy.co.uk and maybe we can work something out? Hey, Barney, Katie et al, by the way - how's tricks? Muckle love to all, Charlotte xx
Hi Vicky, so pleased youve managed to get away, hope you're having a fantastic time.
All our love,
Allison, Gobi, Jessica and Anneli xxx
I hope you had a great trip, as imagine you have not checked you blog while relaxing and warming you bones under the Med sun. Had a Pink Breakfast at work and I won several bottles of pink champagne with which I will toast you and your birthday. (and mine)
lots of love and thinking of you
Jim
Hello you three,
I hope you've managed to have a really lovely holiday. I'm sure feeling the sunshine will have felt just bliss after all you've been through. And Martin, I'm sure you managed to partake in a few Ceveza and tapas.
I (and the world and his dog)was so sorry to read of the particularly torid time you've had recently. But Vicky, I have to say I'm impressed that you got to 40 before seeing a psycho. That's pretty good going - most of my friends don't have such a genuine excuse!
Keep happy - you're a traveller by heart and it doesn't suprise me in the slightest you plucked up enough reserve energy to get yourself on that plane!
Lots of love and hugs
Bexs B
p.s. I've jacked in my job as well and am off to the dark side (Torygraph!) but I'm still Guardian in my heart!
I hope your holiday was the tonic you all needed!
Thinking of you, as usual, on Thursday.
Take care
Nicola (Prince)
Hola Vicky!
Hope the holiday was full of sangria and sunshine and you all had some fun.
Was just dropping in to see how things are. Will be thinking of you on Thursday,
Ali x
Hi Vicky,
I hope your holiday was good and hasn't wiped you out too much. Had a little cry at lunchtime as I read the Guardian's tribute to Dina Rabinovitch. I'll drop it by your house tonight. You'll be pleased to know that she didn't fancy running marathons to raise money/awareness either!
p.s. I think your blog is a lot more fun!
Sarah

It was a privilege to be at Vicky's funeral on Saturday. From all the comments, it was obvious to me that she packed far more into her 40 years than most of us would achieve in two lifetimes.
